我现在在国际服务办公室实习，整个Orientation期间我都在。新生来了先到Woodburn Hall报个到，然后到Ballantine注册iStart，检查相关文件如I-20之类。除此之外还有介绍美国大学生活的座谈、英语测试和免费的午饭等。你们考完英语后会到位于Jordan Ave的black culture center吃饭，到时候当地的一些公司会来，很多是银行和房屋公司，你们可以在orientation期间开银行帐户，也可以和房屋公司商谈。如果没有电脑的话，也不要急着买，Bestbuy会来促销，还会给优惠券。如果你是坐shuttle来的话，终点在IMU。你可以跟司机讲能不能送你到学校提供的临时住房，在Ashton或Eigenmann Hall。有一些司机会帮忙的。有什么问题的话，可以和我联系，我叫王群，电子邮件是qunwang@indiana.edu，主页是mypage.iu.edu/~qunwang。

你好,冒昧来打扰。我在贴吧上看到你的信息。请教一下，学校是不是像香港那样，有学生机卖（就是会很便宜）？还有就是，需不需要自己带鼠标、电脑包（如果在国内买，这些都会送）？另外，在美国买的本本电源插座是几眼的？因为回国还要用，如果两眼的话就不用转换器了。非常感谢！


Answer:
In general, laptops are cheaper in the US. As far as I know, the University has some partnership agreements with Dell. However, during the summer time, most other computer companies also have special prices for students. Besides, Bestbuy will participate in the orientation. You may get coupons from it.

Usually you don't get mouse and bag when buying a laptop in the U.S. You have to buy them yourself. I suggest that you bring them from China.

在美国买的本本电源插tou是2 or 3眼的.No need for 转换器 when used in China.

方便，在网上和bestbuy都可以买。你来了以后可以马上办debit card，使起来和信用卡一样。你也可以在国内办个卡带过来使。你不用担心插头的事，拿回中国照常使，没有任何问题，不用转换插头。dell的两眼或三眼都有可能。记得去年orientation的时候有一个广告单子上面有dell的广告。不一定买戴尔的。整体都比较便宜。
