It is my first solo recital in my life. This recital expresses my connection to music in deeply loving and enjoying our life and pursuing honestly nature in heart. Also, it expresses classical taste and atmosphere of Yulin’s voice in different kinds of music, modern musical and contemporary songs.

This recital will include three sections, the first will be opera Arie, the second will be musical selection and the last section will be contemporary new composed by my friend, Chen Yihan. The first section will be two classical opera Aries, where the classical story telling style about life. It is where my favor music style origins from. The second section has three musical selections. We will see how the classical story telling style promotes in the modern love stories or musical about daily life. These pieces of music are funnier and has stronger conveying. The third section contains two new songs composed by Yihan, which are inspired by core of traditional Chinese music. These two songs are based on my most favorite lyrics from Wanyi Fang and Xiong Ren, who share similar value of life with me.

Yulin Yu （喻宇琳), Mezzo-Soprano, was born in Guangzhou, China. Yulin is an undergraduate art history major earning departmental honors and is a member of the Hutton Honor College. She has studied Voice Performance around five years. She has been a soloist, chorus leader, and music critic, singing in student recitals at the Jacobs School of Music and at the HHart annual arts showcase produced by the Hutton Honors College and the Hudson & Holland Scholars Program. She won the First Prize in solo voice performance at the 6th National Youth Art Festival and on flute the silver medal in theGuangzhou Asian Game Opening Ceremony Orchestra Show.
